2016: Best Year Yet
As 2016 wraps up and we prepare for the New Year, reminiscing over this past year leaves me in awe. God is SO good.
This year has been my most rewarding yet most challenging year. I can't thank my humans enough for their support, prayers, encouragement, and the joy they've brought to my life. From the late night ice cream runs, surprising me with flowers, to just being understanding that I had to say no to a lot of social events this summer/fall to chase my dreams, a huge thanks to you guys. LOVE YOU SO MUCH.
I tend to forget the little joys a year can bring. This year I kept a running list in my Google Docs and I wanted to share a few:
+ My grandma is healthy again
+ I've said no to working on Sunday's.
+ Emily and I rented seadoos for $20 in Mexico and raced random people. I dropped my go pro and it immediately sunk so we kept on racing... One of my fav memories. RIP Go Pro.
+ I experienced what it was like traveling by myself.
+ I joined a small group at church this past winter with wiser women and I loved learning from them.
+ Georgia and I moved into our townhouse, "The Manor," and we have so much fun! Come sing Karaoke with us!!
+ Abby and I hosted a workshop and it was awesome. We had so much community support!
+ I had my first photo featured in Wedding Day.
+ I realize success is actually being able to say NO. Not because I don’t want to work hard, but more because I need to invest in my relationships, with God, Jake, my family and my friends. Without them my business would be nothing and the energy I put into things would be stale.
My 2017 goal is to keep fueling the passion to create. I am going to do that by limiting the number of sessions / weddings I commit to, and invest the bulk of my time into loving people.
2016 was great, and I am excited to see what is in store for 2017.
